2014 David's Tableau Vivant

Our signature Bordeaux-style wine is blended and bottled in honor our founder, David. The history of this bottle goes back to 2004 when David was working on his first ever Bordeaux-style blend. He had discovered the quality of wines being grown and produced in southern Oregon's Rogue Valley which peaked his interest because in addition to his love of Burgundies and Pinot noir, he also loved the wines of Bordeaux. He met and contracted with a grower to receive fruit, in the harvest of '04, at our estate winery in Carlton. That year he produced and was aging, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the three varietals that were used in his favorite Bordeaux wines.  He was getting ready to blend his barrels when he passed away in early 2006, leaving his barrels, unclended, aging in our cellar.  This was considered his final passion project and in his honor, Susan finished his blend and released it as David's Tableau Vivant. We continue to make this wonderful blend with the same varietals and from the best barrels, in only the best vintages.

Our 2014 vintage is 65% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon- a true right-bank style Bordeaux. Exhibiting black cherry with a hint of cedar on the nose, the palate opens with ripe plum and chocolate, finishing with silky sweet tobacco and coffee.
